Twelve Canadian biathletes will compete against the rest of the world on the Olympic tracks of Mount Van Hoevenberg between January 14 and 21, 2023. Five events are on the program of the Games: the individual races, the sprint, the pursuit, the mass start, and the mixed relay.

The women’s team will consist of Shilo Rousseau – who represented the country at the last World Junior Championships, sisters Cara and Zoe Pekos, as well as Danika Burke, Isabelle Caza and Anna Perry.

Romeo Champagne, Zachary Demers, Simon Gauthier, William Moineau, William Ng and Lance Sekora will form the men’s team. The Canadian squad will be led in Lake Placid by Allie Dickson, who was also at Krasnoyarsk 2019, and Tim Hurley. Wax technician Charles Pépin completes the delegation.

Biathlon made its appearance at the FISU Games in Sofia 1983 on the men’s side, and six years later in the same city for women. Canada has never won a medal in this discipline.
