The Winter World University Games is an international sports and cultural event that is staged every two years in a different city. Second only in scale to the Olympics, these Games are the highlight of a life of competition in most of the world. Now they are coming to America, and to the only town in North America that has played host to two Olympic Winter Games.
The 31st Winter World University Games is scheduled to take place in Lake Placid, NY, USA from January 12- 22, 2023. 2,500 athletes and delegation officials from 50 countries will participate in 86 events in 12 sports. In accordance with an agreement between FISU (owner of the Winter World University Games) and the Lake Placid 2023 Organizing Committee (LP23), a ‘Host Broadcaster‘ will be selected by LP23 to produce and transmit to an International Broadcast Center in Lake Placid an impartial, live, high-quality HD video and audio international broadcast signal of the following competitions, events and activities to FISU and all international and domestic Broadcast rightsholders who will further distribute the signal(s) to their respective territories:
* Opening and Closing Ceremonies
* Ice Hockey and Curling semifinals and finals
* Finals for Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Figure Skating, Freestyle and Freeski, Nordic Combined, Short Track Speed Skating, Ski Jumping, Snowboard, Speed Skating * Medal Ceremonies
* Pre-event, event and post-event audio/video services and content
* Live streaming and recording of broadcast signals
