NEW YORK CITY STUDENTS PRESENT AWARDS AT LAKE PLACID 2023 FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES’ MIXED TEAM SKI JUMPING EVENT

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (January 18, 2023) — Fourth through eighth grade students from New York City’s Bronx and Brooklyn boroughs presented the awards during tonight’s, Jan. 18, award ceremony for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games mixed team ski jumping event at the Olympic Jumping Complex.

The students presented awards to Team Poland’s gold and bronze medalists, Adam Niznik and Nicole Konderla, and Kinga Rajda and Szmon Jojko and Japan’s silver medal duo of Ryusei Ikeda and Machiko Kubota.

Through the generosity of Hydro-Quebec, the Official Partner of the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games Save Winter campaign, the students are in Lake Placid to experience the FISU World University Games and the North Country region.

The Jan. 12-22 Lake Placid 2023 FISU Games is an 11-day competition and educational festival that features 1,443 collegiate-athletes, ages 17-25, from more than 540 universities across 46 countries. The competition consists of 12 winter sports and 85 medal events contested throughout northern New York, including Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Wilmington, North Creek, Canton and Potsdam.
