(September 15, 2022) — Applications are now being accepted for working media accreditation and hotel rooms for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, which will be held 12-22 January 2023 in Lake Placid, N.Y. and the surrounding Adirondack region. To request accreditation, all steps set forth in this application must be completed. In addition, information on reserving hotels will be found below.
It is highly recommended that this entire advisory is read before applying for accreditation, and to bookmark the application link below for future reference.
All accreditation applications for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU Games must be completed by Monday, December 12, 2022.
Sports, News, Assignment Editors/Directors: The online Media Accreditation application contained in this advisory must be completed by the Sports, News or Assignment Editor/Director for the applying news organization who must designate the number and type of credentials being requested, and the name(s) of the individual(s) at the applying news organization who will be using the accreditations. The Sports, News or Assignment Editor/Director will also have the option to complete a hotel application for each individual from their news organization who is requesting a hotel room at the event.
Applications for the Media Accreditation will be accepted only from registered media, photographers, bloggers (minimum following of 10,000 subscribers), and Media Liaisons of sports institutions.
Freelance photographers must submit a letter on company letterhead detailing actual assignment(s) (emails will not be accepted) from the assigning editor with his/her contact information for Media Accreditation consideration.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- 1. Before starting the process, please have ready a preferred in-focus headshot (no hats or sunglasses), in front of a solid light-colored background, a photo of the individual(s) that you are requesting accreditations for.
2. It is recommended to save all Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games’ registration information.
3. At the bottom of the page, select “Are you Media?” And complete the steps on the next page. Finish by clicking “Create User” at the bottom of the form.
4. Log into your email for the confirm account creation and use the link provided and continue to the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games’ Media Accreditation form.
5. Click on World University Games at the top of the page.
6. Click on Winter World University Games and follow the accreditation instructions.
6a. For sub-category dropdown, select one of the host country options.
7. Click “Save and Submit” to finalize registration. If you need to enter additional names, repeat steps 5 and 6.
Approval Process: Each applicant will receive an approval or denial email beginning on November 12, 2022. For those who apply after this date, you will receive approval or denial within approximately five (5) days of submission. Distribution Process: All Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games’ Media Accreditation will be issued by the Organizing Committee at the Main Press Center (MPC) Accreditation Desk (49 Parkside Drive, Lake Placid, NY 12946). Specific accreditation distribution information will be included in approval letters. Each individual applicant approved for an accreditation for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU Games will be asked to present government-issued photo identification to verify his/her identity and sign for the accreditation when picking up on-site.
ACCREDITATIONS WILL NOT BE MAILED.
Hotels: A limited number of hotel rooms have been reserved at the below properties. A request or confirmation of accreditation does NOT guarantee a hotel room. Each individual requiring a room must request a hotel reservation via email at [email protected]
The Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games also requires that all reservations be guaranteed by submitting a valid major credit card number as a deposit. Failure to provide a valid credit card could negate your reservation. Upon requesting a reservation, a credit card authorization form will be sent to you for completion and return to [email protected]
The deadline for booking a hotel room is Friday, October14, 2022 and the deadline to cancel reservations vary depending upon hotel. Failure to cancel any reservation will result in being charged for the entire length of your stay.
