Men’s and Women’s 1000m Final: This is a race of four to five skaters, for nine laps. Racers attempt to get into a strategic position for the final sprint. Women’s 3000m: This is the longest distance for women at the Games. The athlete focuses on increasing their speed in each of the 7.5 laps. They accelerate through the turns and maintain speed on the straights. Men’s 5000m: This is the longest distance for men at the Games. Top skaters will target 29- to 30-second laps over 12.5 laps. Gates open 1 hour prior to event start time.
