WILMINGTON, N.Y. – Adirondack Mac, the official Mascot for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, visited Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, N.Y. today, Thursday, Dec. 30. Mac skied on some of the same trails that will be used for the January 12-22, 2023 FISU World University Games’ men’s and women’s Alpine ski events.

Between now and the start of the 31st FISU World University Games Winter edition, Adirondack Mac will be roaming New York state and the northeast, showing up at various events and activities.

During the 11-day cultural exchange and multi-winter sports event, the larger-than-life Mascot will be found engaging fans and cheering on the expected 1,600 collegiate-athletes, from 50 countries and 600 universities, competing in the 12 high level sports and 86 events that make up the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games. In addition to Wilmington and Lake Placid, athletic competitions will also take place in Canton, North Creek, Potsdam and Saranac Lake. There will also be an emphasis on climate awareness and environmental responsibility.
