LAKE PLACID 2023 FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES’ MASCOT, ADIRONDACK MAC, WILL MARCH IN SATURDAY’S SCHENECTADY HOLIDAY PARADE
SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Come on out and meet Adirondack Mac, the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games’ official Mascot during, Saturday’s, November 20, 2021, Daily Gazette Holiday Parade in Downtown Schenectady. Adirondack Mac and sporting friends, representing the 12 sports that make up the January 12-22, 2023 Winter World University Games, are ready to celebrate the return of Schenectady’s Holiday Parade, themed “Superheroes,” honoring our real heroes, the pandemic essential workers, and the heroes from our childhood.
The 52nd installment of the parade kicks off at 5 p.m. and begins at Schenectady County Community College before marching down State Street to the corner of Franklin Street and Lafayette. Parade organizers have asked that all attendees wear a mask to help prevent further spread of the virus.
Following the parade, Adirondack Mac will be available for a meet & greet, pose for pictures and sign autographs.
On Wednesday, Adirondack Mac made a grand Capital Region debut on the ice at Schenectady Curling Club. Designed by Kristina Ingerowski of Farmington, N.Y. , a sophomore at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Mac challenged area media to compete in a curling contest. Medals were awarded to the top three players, but ultimately Adirondack Mac ended up sweeping the competition.
You can follow the adventures of Adirondack Mac, who will be showing up at various events and activities throughout New York State and the northeast, through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with #adirondackmac.
